whew these past two days have WORE ME OUT!!
Yesterday my class headed back to the state mental hospital but this time we actually ran groups for the patients.
we had 4 different groups for them to come to.
Me and three of my classmates ran a physical activity group and we set out corn hole, bowling,
shuffle board and another bean bag toss game.
We had to run it twice, for 1 hour at a time...the patients seemed to really enjoy it!
we had one lady laughing so hard she was crying! and one guy played corn hole the entire hour!
everyone said their groups went well, the other groups were painting flower pots, storytelling and making a coat of arms...
We had to move our practicum to today instead of on Thursday since the kids will be on Spring Break.
annd I was the leader today. we did a song that the Kindergartners love- then made letters out of the Handwriting without Tears wood pieces, and then drew letters in shaving cream. They seemed to really enjoy it and they were all sad it was the last time at "OT Zone" !!
but being around a bunch of k-2nd graders is exhaustinggg!
Next week we still have to go on Thursday but it's the end of the year carnival so we are just helping out wherever we're needed! It should be really fun, but I'm gonna miss seeing some of those kiddos!
now all i want to do is drink coffee and watch The Biggest Loser!
